Families with special needs members suffer physical and psychological distress, hence it is important for individuals and organizations to provide support for this
category of society. Al Gurg Charity Foundation is keen to support different specialized centres in this field including:
Dubai Autism Centre
Al Gurg Charity Foundation has supported the Dubai Autism Centre in 2013 through funds to cover rent and other expenses. The aim is to provide annual care and
support to the centre for its development so that people with special needs receive lasting and tangible services as well as integrated care.
Khorfakkan Club for Handicapped
Al Gurg Charity Foundation has provided support to Khorfakkan Club for Handicapped which serves the people with special needs of the eastern area encouraging
them to participate in the various activities of the club.
Helping Special Needs Individuals
Emirates Association for Down syndrome
HE Easa Saleh Al Gurg is keen to support this association to encourage its
effective role in enhancing community partnership and raising awareness
about individuals with Down syndrome. The philosophy is to achieve social
cohesion which integrates these individuals into normal society and to provide
full support to them and their families.
Al Noor Training Centre for Children with Special
Needs
Al Noor Training Centre is one of the institutions which receive annual support
from Al Gurg Charity Foundation for supporting special needs individuals. The
centre is a non-profit organization which has been established in 1981 in
order to provide equal opportunities for individuals with disabilities regardless
of nationality; to receive vocational training and care necessary to reach the
height of their abilities and integrate into society.
Rashid Pediatric Therapy Centre
Al Gurg Charity Foundation annually supports the activities of the Rashid
Pediatric Therapy Centre. It provides quality education and therapy services for
children with special needs and follows international standards of excellence
in education and therapy. Each child has a specifically designed programme
and his or her parents are encouraged to participate in all the centre’s activities.
Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services
Al Gurg Charity Foundation has presented a donation to Sharjah City for
Humanitarian Services to cover the cost of cochlear implants for two people
with hearing disabilities. The Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services is one of
the institutions of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah It works
for the empowerment and training, education, rehabilitation and employment
of persons with disabilities and orphans of various ages and nationalities in
the UAE.
Princess Haya Award for Special Education
Al Gurg Charity Foundation has participated in sponsoring the Princess Haya
Award for Special Education during its fifth session in 2013. The award focuses
on improving services and the educational process in the field of special needs.
The 2013 award function also included a two-day international conference
addressing recent developments in the various fields of special education.
Al Gurg Charity has been honoured during the event for their contribution to
the award as one of the main partners for the second year in a row. During the
event Fatma Abdulla Al Shaibani received an appreciation certificate from HE
Hameed Mohammed Al Qattami, Minister of Education. Mohamed Farouk, Al
Gurg Charity Foundation Manager, Samia Ibrahim, Al Gurg Group Government
Relations Manager and Hend Ahmed, Public Relations in charge in Al Gurg
Charity Foundation, attended the function.
