Ramadan is the month of mercy and forgiveness and it is the season of giving.
During the Holy Month, Al Gurg Charity Foundation has participated in many
projects and activities such as:
1 million AED to support “Dress 1 million” campaign
Al Gurg Charity Foundation has participated in the campaign “Dress 1 million”
under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mohamed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum to
provide 1 million poor children all over the world with clothing. The campaign
is a symbol of entrepreneurship and giving which was a prominent quality
of Late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan and of the people of the UAE.
The campaign traced his footsteps in extending a helping hand to the poor.
The campaign targeted more than 30 countries all over the world, including
Lebanon, Yemen, Syria, Iraq, Palestine, Malawi, Tanzania, Zanzibar, Albania,
Bosnia and Herzegovina and India.
Food Items, Iftar Meals & Zakat during
the Holy Month of Ramadan
Every year the Foundation provides at least 1,000 meals daily for the fasting
devout at the different mosques of the Foundation. The integrated meal
package is distributed at the mosques located in Al Karama, Al Warqa and Al
Muhaisanah areas in Dubai.
The foundation also distributes basic food items packages which include flour,
rice, sugar, dates, margarine, etc
Zakat is provided to the poor from its headquarters throughout the Holy month
in addition to providing aid to some like-minded charities to assist in the
distribution of Zakat funds to ensure that it reaches all areas of the UAE.
Ramadan and Eid Assistance
Al Gurg Charity has participated in the auction held by Dubai Cares & Oxfam “One Night to Change Lives”
Abdulla Al Gurg, General Manager of Easa Saleh Al Gurg Group LLC and a Board Member of Al Gurg Charity Foundation participated in the charitable auction under the
slogan “One Night to Change Lives”. It was held under the patronage of HH Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein wife of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE
Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, on the sidelines of the Dubai International Film Festival and in favour of Dubai Cares and Oxfam.
Abdulla Al Gurg has stated that it is important to participate in such events as donations will support vital projects such as improved access to water and adequate
sanitation, as well as hygiene promotion to schools in communities in rural areas of Tanzania.
Supporting war-affected children in collaboration with Tareeq Al Zuhur Community
Al Gurg Charity Foundation provides annual support to treat Iraqi children with heart diseases and in need of surgical intervention in collaboration with the Tareeq Al
Zuhur Community in Iraq. This is a non-political and non-profit organization aimed at extending a helping hand and medical and humanitarian assistance to children
of Iraq. The operations are performed at a specialized hospital in India.
International aid for Bahrain, Al Kuwait & Zanzibar
Al Gurg Charity Foundation provides annual support to Al Eman School in Bahrain
to finance the salaries of the employees. Al Eman School is a non-profit charitable
school.
The Foundation has also donated to Fatima Clinic in Kuwait to cover five sessions and
training for the treatment of children with special needs to overcome difficulties,
improve their performance and level of education.
The Foundation has also assisted in the expansion of a health centre and a kitchen in
a medical complex in Zanzibar state of Tanzania besides the construction of a mosque,
two schools and continues to support their requirements and needs.
