Al Gurg Charity Supports MBRU students with AED 5 million scholarship

Al Gurg Charity Foundation has signed an agreement with Mohammed bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU), to support talented undergraduate Emirati students with scholarships for Bachelor Degree programmes offered at the university.

As per the agreement, the ESAG Charity Foundation launched the ‘ESAG Charity Foundation scholarship programme’ which aims to help develop and grow the UAE health sector through funding scholarships for Emirati students who cannot afford to pay for their own education, for the MBRU’s Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, MBBS, six-year programme.

The agreement was signed at the ESAG Charity Foundation Headquarters in Dubai between Mrs. Maryam Easa Saleh Al Gurg, Vice Chairperson of Al Gurg Charity and Dr. Amer Sharif, Chief Executive Officer, Education Sector, Dubai Healthcare City Authority in the presence of Mohamed Farouk, Executive Manager of Al Gurg Charity and Dr. Alawi Al Sheikh Ali, Dean of University of Medicine and Health Sciences, MBRU, and a number of senior officials from both entities.

Maryam Easa Saleh Al Gurg said, "This agreement aims to support the education sector in the Emirate of Dubai, especially outstanding students who cannot afford to pay for their medical education.”

Speaking on the importance of the partnership, Dr. Sharif said, "We at MBRU would like to thank the ESAG Charity Foundation for their munificence and support in creating such opportunities for our youth.”
