Al Gurg Charity Foundation has signed an MOU with the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives to launch the digital library for the Arab Reading Challenge initiative. This initiative aims to promote the culture of reading among younger generations, facilitate students’ access to knowledge, and equip them with the tools necessary to hone their skills and achieve their future ambitions.
The MOU was signed by HE Dr Raja Easa Saleh Al Gurg, Chairperson of the Al Gurg Charity Foundation, and HE Saeed Al Eter, Assistant Secretary-General of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives. Under this agreement, Al Gurg Charity Foundation provided AED 4 million for the digital library project, which includes book digitisation programmes, acquiring publishing rights, and providing essential electronic programmes for the new platform.
Dr. Raja Al Gurg emphasised that the agreement reflects the Foundation’s commitment to fostering a culture of reading among young generations and its recognition of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives’ vital role in encouraging students to acquire knowledge and preserve the Arabic language through impactful programmes like the Arab Reading Challenge.
